Fun card making

Since Neil is away down south on a jolly, I've been left to my own devices. I've got into the spirit of making cards today, made quite a few - took a while to get going as the first couple didn't look right for me, but persevered and got the cards made to a state i'm relatively happy with. That's always a good thing lol

A Christmas card - using masking technique, I've stamped and embossed the We wish you a merry christmas clear stamp from Daisy & Dandelion collection, Christmas Greetings with Heat it Up Denim blue embossing powder , and then used the snow flakes clear stamp from the Hobby Craft clear stamp collection and embossed with the silver pearl heat it up embossing powder. This was then highlighted with some gem embellishment and the piece was 3-D foamed onto a plain white card. I thought the card was quite subtle and effective, really liked how it turned out.

Will upload more cards when I finally take photos of them :)

Finally.......

Its been a while I've done a life post, so thought I would put some words on the blog...... the last few months been interesting to say the least, feeling better and stronger. Although have noticed that I've changed quite a bit, don't think its in a good way either. I'm not as happy and go lucky as I was, but hopefully I will find my mojo back.

Many unhappy things happened in the last few months as well, but the finally one thing I have been looking for has happened now!! I've got my promotion!!! How exciting!! although I'm not as happy as I thought I would be - not sure why - but hey ho.... got it finally!!!

There's less than 8 weeks to 2013 - I'll be glad to see the back of it - it succccccccccccks!! Welcome 2014 - I can't wait for you to get here!

Ooops missed the deadline.....

Having seen the challenge on the Less is More blog, I thought I would give it a try, go back to basic and just do stamping.

So this card is where the inspiration comes from, however have noticed that I've missed the deadline in entering, nevermind I had fun playing anyway.

The card is a basic card blank, apple green. Used one of the clear Christmas stamp set I got from Hobbycraft recently, fab value - only £2, and its on 3 for 2!

Stamp the trio tree image 3 times with a green stamp cube, and again stamp the sentiment of merry christmas in the same ink. Put some papermania silver gem star embellishment on the trees and a green circular dovecraft adhesive gemstone on the i of Christmas

I thought this was simple yet effective.

Purrrrfect Card made today

On a roll! A card made, to be honest with no one in mind but just inspiration hit me and using some spare card i have when making yesterday's one.
Think I will aim to make 7 cards a week - 1 a day - at least and see how long that will last. Guess that will be easy when I start on Christmas cards lol!! As I don't normally sell my cards, I might make up packs and gave away as presents ;-) that might be a bit different and save me having tons of cards kicking about.... although useful when I don't have time to make any!! LOL

Today's card was made with Dovecraft 6x6 fairy take paper, stampsfrom set that was free Creative stamper magazine and papermanina sticky gems.

Have a nice day!

Crafting Haul!!!

What stunning weather we're having on the East coast of Scotland today, its like a gorgeous Summers' day its still abit chilly if you're not in the sun! Can't wait for Spring and Summer now with the warmer climate!!

This month I went a little mental and bought various things, die cuts, embellishment gems, clear stamps and a few magazines too. Will have a good play on them today hopefully once i finished tidying up - which seems endless at the moment!!!

Some of these were freebies from the magazines, some are on sale and even better with discount using the hobbycraft 25% off! There's quite a lot there for me to get on with, now just need to make sure i don't spend any more..... this month! :)

Happy Sunday everyone.

Happy Valentines' Day

Its been a quick a few months, been almost 5 months that Neil and I were married. This will be our first valentine's day as husband and wife, so it was very different to write to my darling husband than some other cheeky message.
We're not big on events like this, just a card really - and presents depending on what we want etc at the time we get, but most of the time is just to spend time with each other.

I made a special card for my husband this year, really liked how it turned out.

I'm going to be entering this to the crafty creation's challenge

#209 - Love and/or hearts

Dad's Birthday card

After yesterday's card making, decided to make a couple more whilst I have a relatively clear office desk again! (My hubby and I share an office, and he tends to leave his models tools etc out - not very useful!) Anyway.... was leapblogging today and noticed docraft had a blog themselves so joined that. They've posted a challenge, never done one before and since I need to make a birthday card for my dad - his birthday is in Feb, I decided to have a go. Its relatively simple but I'm in a mood for simple but effective so hope you all like it.
Submitting this as Docraft's Male Challenge

I used Forever Friends decoupage, paper from DCWV Colour block mat stack, papermania brads and pearlescent silver paper.

Card making

OMG I can't believe how much paper I have - lol i shouldn't complain but I need to get myself back into crafting big time and use some of my stash - on the look out for inspirations!!
Managed to make a couple of cards last time so will get them uploaded! And some others that made previously too! :D

Post update:

The 2 cards I made yesterday - they're A5 size, was thinking of donating some cards to the office to sell, with proceeds to a charity - the only thing is I'm not sure whether they will be good enough for people to even want to buy them! will see!

I've left them blank inside.

New Year 2013

New Year suppose to be a new start and everything going well. Going from a fabulous 2012, with new niece's arrival, our wedding to finding out we were expecting our first child to ending the year on a complete low.
Early scan on the last day of 2012 shows bb wasn't measuring against dates, however there was a shimmer of hope that the dates were wrong or implantation dates were late. In the new year we had the confirmation that bb isnt growing and leaving us. I know everything happens for a reason and probably find out now rather than another 10 weeks down the line, but still don't make it any easier.
I keep wondering if its something I ate, done, the medication i've been asked to put on  or purely of my conditions that caused bb to leave us. Unfortunately its one of the questions that will never be answered.
I'm still sad that we have lost bb but i also know that bb is now being looked after by my other angel niece which we never got to meet.
In time it will hurt a little less, I'll find myself not tearing up as often but bb, we will never forget it.
Its a shame we never got to meet.
