Post Wedding stuff

Well we done it, we're now married, married for almost 3 weeks!!!!

The day was fab, loved every min of it and it absolutely flew by. Everything pretty much turned out great! the only thing I forgot to do was the music, which neil done the night before unfortuantely the cd failed on the one that was to be played during the meal, wasnt too bad though cos we had some spare cds that dee had in the car so we just played that... they were love songs anyway lol.....

thankfully the first dance song cd was fine so all good!!! :)

must get my invites up menus and everything i done up, cos they looked lovely and worked out so well - very pleased with the handi work if i say so myself.

My husband Neil done the flowers - wow!! they turned out beautifully and everyone commented on how professional it looked, so well chuffed with them all!!!

will try and get the photos up soon x

Wedding progress update

Well getting close now, 58 days to go!!!!
Excited but probably not as excited as normal brides are!! lol... would still love to just elope, but hey my brother confirmed he will be back now so I'm really happy.
My sister in law, Raven bought me a necklace and earrings set so I can wear on my wedding day, its stunning! got my Wedding band too now- and wow!! looks fab - exactly how i imagined it would... i have a very unusal engagement band - with curves etc, so wanted a wedding band that will fit in with it perfectly.
Its made now and brought back from Hk too and fits absolutely perfectly! (will upload photos shortly)
So thats another thing done.
Shoes - bought- nice Gillian from Kurt Gieger and got them on sale too - in grey so i can wear after the wedding :)
Almonds bought now so just need to make them up closer to the time, although i want to make little tags to thank people for sharing the day with us, now just to make them too - I think I designed it now so must get my finger out this weekend!
before I know it, it will be a few days to go!! must enjoy my current freedom of not being married lol!!

Mmmmm I think I have bought a few things in April which maybe I shouldnt have. Its not like I really really need them.. oh well.... I love the Memory box die - Vivenne butterfly and the darla butterfly which compliments really well with each other. Ended up ordering them from 2 seperate places... but I'm still waiting for the Vivenne butterfly!!! so gutted it better turn up!
Also got some clear stamps too so that will be exciting to play with!

Wedding invites

That's all but one day invite to finish!! So can't wait! the evening invites are coming along nicely too so that's good. Will post a pic of them once done!

The Last Week

Not bad on the wedding planning front!
Got our menu sorted with the hotel, just need to give final numbers a few weeks before wedding and final payment to them too.
Photographer, Chris, replied as well so he's all good for that day, we now just need to look at some styles of photos and send it on and also have a proper meeting with him to discuss the cost etc.
I'm now very excited, and that's 5 months today the wedding is!!! how exciting!! in a few months time, the dress will be in too.
The only thing really to sort out is the cake - this is abit pain in backside, so will try and get this sorted tonight!
Well my parents officially retire today. The shop open for the last time last night, management by us. Its sad but very happy that my parents can take a break and enjoy life. With Aven being born, they can spend time over in HK looking after her... she's sooo cute! and maybe in year or so time, they have a grandchild closer to home to look after too - fingers crossed! Will see how life pans out shall we :)

craft superstore

OMG totally impressed with their speedy delivery!!!
The big shot and the goodies were actually delivered on Friday, but unfortunately wasn't in and my neighbour Evelyn took it in for me, although stupid courier didn't leave a card so we didn't know it was there til she knocked on the door today!
Recieved today were, big shot starter pack which includes the machine, pack of paper, 2 embossing folder and adhesive, I also ordered 3 forever friends stamp a packet of eyelets and packet of clear papermania stamp.
All were under 60 quid including delivery! Well impressed.
Also arrived are my ebay goodies, spellbinder Oval templates and create-a-flake set.... tried out the create a flake and they were fabby!! although i haven't got the tan mats so will need to get those ordered to get embossing!!
Can't wait for that.

Crafting goodies

I done it, decided on which die cutting machine to go for! Ended up getting the big shot, most people have said that its the dies not the machine that makes a good cut or emboss, so as both cuttlebug and big shot do the same thing, i decided to look at their practicalities and they're stability.

For me - the cuttebug is a little flimsy although great for storage, as the flaps comes down - over time i think i will end up breaking it as I know how clumsy I am!! and also i found that the big shot is on offer just now which made it slightly cheaper than the cuttlebug.

Looked on quidco and they actually do cashback on craftsuperstore and discount too so im well chuffed-  got the starter kit of big shot and some other goodies for under 55 quid!! cant wait for them to be delivered now...

i also bidded and won a couple of diecuts too so cant wait to play now!! hope they arrive soon :D

Visit The Range

Having been on forums, alot of fellow crafters mentioned a shop called the range. Unfortunately they don't have one in Edinburgh or Scotland yet, however I do hope they will consider this soon!
When we were down in shrewsbury for the weekend, I decided to google to see if there is the Range nearby and located one not far. We took a drive and went for a wander around the shop.
OMG its craft heaven, its got about 10 aisles of crafting goodies and it was sooo hard to resist not to ge tons and tons of stuff!
I was good though however and walked away with 2 incredible kits at great value. Both were £9.99 each. One of which has 10 items the other had 14 items in it with a card making idea sheet too.
I've taken photos of them to show you the goodies
This set is the first craft set, exclusive to the range, which has 2 packets of brads, 2 rub on transfers, a packet of clear stamps, packet of flower chipboards, a decoupage and paper set, glitter satin ribbon stickers pack, glittered sticker sheets and a packet of 12x12 paper pack with 36 sheets of patterned paper

The next 2 photos are part of the same set, which is of Christmas theme. It consists of a 12x12 sheet of glittered white swirls, a packet of Papermania 12x12 Christmas patterned paper, a packet of card stock in shades of pink and red, a packet of clear stamps, a packet of reindeer topper. A packet of greetings topper, a packet of Forever friends Christmas topper. A alphabet stickers set, ribbon stickers, 2 set of outline merry/happy Christmas stickers and finally a domed forever friends Christmas sticker set, a packet of red rose buds and a reel of 3m gold Christmas ribbon.
Will look forward to playing with this!

Sad sad news......

Found out when I got home that one of my most respected man have passed away on Thursday night, HK time. Unsure the real reason or the details to why or how he passed away, but its very very sad.
I'm ashamed that I don't speak to him often as I took granted that knowing he was there, everything is fine. However I hope he is in a better place now, and master, you will always be in my memory.
Will miss you lots.

I'm just glad that I was able to see you the last time I was over to visit!

Home Sweet Home

Well I've survived it. I've met the Bells, they were such a lovely bunch of people, they were very welcoming and had such a fabulous time!
They're house is fabulous, lovely big garden and rooms. Lovely Cloudy and Lexy too, so cute!! have to say they don't like cameras at all!!!!
The drive back was lovely too-  the weather was brilliant and we took the scenic route back via the A7 which was fab too!
However very glad to be home - home sweet home

Meeting the Bells

Its Peter's 60th birthday and we've been invited to celebrate with the Bells. Neil always loved the place here and the family and I can totally see why.
The only thing is, its a bit smokey in here- but hey only once in a blue moon I don't mind :)
I managed to make the day invitations in time too for the bells - and they all liked it - although maybe they were being polite as they knew I made them myself. :)

Crafty Monday

Monday again, weekends go far too quickly!
Can't complain with a 4 day week! Hoping OH is out of his bad mood, he's been in bad mood as I damage his model mould by mistake :S and there's nothing he can do to fix it :o( Ooopsy.....
I did go and get rid of the old bed and got the replacement bed for the spare room though - so at least done something teehee.....
Another to work from home, beginning to enjoy this now and afraid I might get too used to this!!
Done a lot of cleaning and tidying, and made 4 cards! not bad really for trying to keep an eye on work emails :o)
Can't believe how quickly today went though, more exercise class tonight and hopefully have a relaxing evening. Must take photos of the cards and upload!

Wedding Dress

Wedding dress shopping!!!

Started looking at designs online for a possible wedding dress, then came across this site that had a wedding dress sale towards the end of January. So signed up to go have a look.
Berketex Bride in Frederick street it turns out to be. Walked in to this relatively small shop, and there are easily hundreds of wedding dresses there. But unfortunately they were all too glamous and big for what I had in my mind......

Spoke to Liz what I had in mind, floor length dress no train and no puff, she suggested for me to look at the bridesmaid dresses to see if i like any of those as they can be made in white or ivory. Out of about 30 dresses, I only saw 1 dress that i like

Tried on the dress, although in black it was stunning, made me look super thin! :) but the dress was 300 quid which was abit more than I wanted to pay for.... so decided to shop around and come back.

saw a dress in debenhams, ordered online with discount code and it was only 120 quid thought bargain!!! got them to try on - they were a little small.... But the biggest thing was that i just didnt look right in the dress- i actually look pregnant.... so unfortunately, away back to the shop for money it went.

Next shop was Susan gregory's. Yvonne and Angela got their dresses there and they were really nice as well when i went there. So went in to see if there are anything I like. Unfortunately the ones they have all have trains and puff, tried on about 6 dresses there and there were 2 that I liked, but to be really honest, they were too puffy, too long with train even though they can take it up and far too expensive!! one for 450 quid and the other was 520. and theres still alteration on top of that.

Next stop, tried Katherine Hamilton's tried on a few dresses, and there was one dress that was lovely, and it was down to this one and the one from berketex bride.... this one was 350 quid and still have to get alterations done and paid for.... and it was on sale. to get this one, it will be the display one...... so had a long hard thought.... ended up buying the one in katherine hamilton. Deposit paid for and ordered now - Dress should arrive in August!! woohoo!!!!

Have to thank Dee for coming with me to each of the dress try ons and giving me her opinions..... it wasnt til the last time i went to Berketex bride that Angela came. Timings was just not right.... but at least she saw the dress i've bought :)

Wedding Invites

Started designing the invites in January but could not finish them as needed the venue before the it can be put together. Finally in March decided on the venue with OH.
Started on getting the invites together now which is very exciting.
Have done the words invitation and layered ready to put onto the ribbon.
Problem now to decide which silver paper or card we go for - the card we bought is a little light, so when vellum goes on it- looks like its white paper, 2nd design which was silver pearlised paper initially OH didn't like, is now back in the running. Just need to test printing on the paper to see if it comes out ok before getting them all done....
Hopefully it will be fine and then all is done - just need to sort out the backing White card to layer it on now. Looking forward to finishing the invites then thats the last big thing to do I think!
